SUMMARY:GTC Event: Data Breach Simulation Training (January 2017)
DESCRIPTION:GTC’s series on data privacy and security will continue with the following event in 2017: \nData Breach Simulation Exercise – Thursday January 12\, 2017 8:45am – noon at the downtown Harvard Club (Boston). \nRocco Grillo\, Executive Managing Director/Cyber Resilience Leader\, Stroz Friedberg/Aon \nPeter Lefkowitz\, Chief Privacy Officer and Senior Digital Rights Management Counsel\, GE Digital \nPatrick Ford\, Chief Information Security Officer\, Americas Region\, Schneider Electric \nSayoko Blodgett-Ford\, CIPP/US\, Member\, GTC Law Group PC \nAdditional speakers and team facilitators to be confirmed. \nThis will be a lively interactive training.  Attendees will work in teams of 5-6 and we will go through a simulated data breach\, starting with an intentionally incomplete draft Incident Response Plan that we will improve as we work through the exercise. \n**Materials for the Data Breach Simulation Exercise are available here. \nWe are also pleased to announce our event focusing on European Data Privacy Compliance – Thursday April 6\, 2017 8:45am – noon at the downtown Harvard Club. \nDavid Bender\, Special Counsel\, Data Privacy\, GTC Law Group PC \nAdditional speakers to be confirmed. \nWe will provide practical guidance on the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) requirements\, which will carry the most severe potential penalties we have ever seen in the data privacy area.  Certain penalties could potentially be the greater of €20M or 4% of annual worldwide revenues.  Although GDPR does not kick in until 2018\, early compliance preparations are essential due to the scope and nature of the requirements. \nWe cordially invite you to attend both.  Space is limited\, so if you would like to attend please RSVP to gtc@gtclawgroup.com as soon as possible.  There is of course no charge for attendance. \nWe intend to apply for CLE credits in CA (NY CLE generally is available via reciprocity). \nIf you have any questions\, please contact Sayoko Blodgett-Ford at GTC (425-681-3795 – sayoko@gtclawgroup.com) \nWe look forward to hearing from you!   — GTC Data Privacy & Security Group
