James (Jim) Schleicher, Ph.D., is a Principal at GTC Law Group. Jim is an experienced patent attorney.  In addition to preparing and prosecuting patent applications, Jim also advises on many other patent-related matters, including validity, infringement and freedom-to-operate analyses. He is fluent across a broad spectrum of technologies, including physics, chemistry and biotechnology. He has represented a wide variety of clients, ranging from Fortune 500 companies to individual inventors, with a particular focus on representing universities in protecting cutting-edge, foundational technologies.

Other technology areas in which Jim has experience include spectroscopy, optical systems, semiconductors, nanotechnology, polymers and pharmaceuticals.

Prior to joining GTC, Jim was a Partner at Quarles & Brady, LLP. Jim holds a B.S. in Chemistry from Michigan State University, an M.S. in Biophysics and Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from Yale University, and a J.D. from University of Michigan Law School.
