Rick M. Olin is a Principal at GTC Law Group, where his practice focuses on transactional matters, including: M&A and technology transfer; compliance areas such as data privacy and security, and information management matters; as well as general business counseling to GTC’s technology and media clients. Prior to joining GTC, Rick served as Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of several technology and media companies, including, most recently, TechTarget, Inc. (NASDAQ: TTGT) from October 2006 to November 2012, where his responsibilities included serving as legal advisor to management, providing executive and legal support for M&A, financings, international activities and other strategic relationships, as well as for transactions involving TechTarget’s online and event properties, and for managing TechTarget’s IP portfolio and corporate compliance programs. Prior to joining TechTarget, Rick was the Senior Vice President of Corporate Development, General Counsel and Secretary at Workscape, Inc., (acquired by ADP, Inc.) from March 2002 through February 2005. From March 1999 through February 2002, Rick was Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of SpeechWorks International, Inc. (acquired by ScanSoft, Inc. and now Nuance Communications, Inc.). In addition, Rick has served as Deputy Legal Counsel at Open Market, Inc. and as a member of the business law section at Mintz, Levin in Boston. Rick holds a B.A. from Brandeis University, an M.Ed. from Harvard University and a J.D. from Northeastern University.
