“Future privacy: A real right to privacy for artificial intelligence” was presented by GTC Law Group & Affiliates’ Sayoko Blodgett-Ford, Principal (and Boston College Law School Adjunct Professor), for Protocol.ai on May 20, 2021 as part of their “Protocol Labs Research Summer Series” https://mailchi.mp/protocol/research-talk-invitation-may-2021. The presentation provided an overview of the history of the Constitutional right of privacy in the United States and considered implications for Artificial Intelligence, including questioning the assumptions implicit in strategies for “AI Alignment”, “Utility Maximizers” as well as “AI for Good”.  The hypothetical of sentient AI was used as a framework for exploration, including potential implications for real-world humans and other beings (sentient and non-sentient).
