Senior Accountant

GTC seeks a highly motivated full-time Senior Accountant to execute firm-wide payroll, accounts receivable. This hybrid role requires regular presence at the Westwood office. The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership, precision, and a strong sense of accountability, with opportunities for advancement within the finance team.

Payroll Management

  • Independently process bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly payroll cycles.
  • Audit payroll files for accuracy and compliance with offer letters and regulations.
  • Maintain payroll reports and reconcile payments, bonuses, and withholdings.
  • Create and post the payroll journal entries in GL.
  • Ensure the deductions are implemented accurately before approving the payroll cycles.
  • Calculate and submit the 3% Safe Harbor contribution as well as the employees’ 401k contributions and loans collected from each pay cycle.

Accounts Receivable

  • Monitor bank accounts and accurately record cash receipts in integrated accounting software.
  • Execute monthly AR processes including statements, client follow-ups, and reconciliation.
  • Respond to client inquiries and resolve AR anomalies.
  • Generate internal AR status reports and manage aging schedules.
  • Forecast collections and support monthly financial projections.

Accounts Payable

  • Oversee AP transactions ensuring timely and accurate processing aligned with firm policies.
  • Manage monthly AP close, vendor onboarding, and reconciliation.
  • Analyze vendor spend and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • File 1099s electronically and troubleshoot system issues.
  • Recommend workflow and process improvements.

 

Patent Attorney/Agent – AI and Software

GTC has a thriving patent strategy and patent prosecution practice and is seeking an experienced patent attorney/agent having extensive experience in both the preparation and prosecution of patent applications and the management of large inter-related patent portfolios. GTC provides cutting edge IP solutions for a range of prominent inventors, venture-funded start-ups and established technology businesses.

We are looking for an entrepreneurial person with a great team attitude and an aptitude for learning new and complex technology. We are looking for a driven and focused attorney/agent who is ready and willing to be a part of multiple internal teams consisting of one or more patent attorneys/agents, technical specialists, project managers and paralegals.

GTC’s patent practice is comprised of accomplished lawyers, agents, technologists and entrepreneurs who operate in a unique, virtual and IP-centric environment.

Position Requirements:

  • 3-10 years of direct experience drafting and prosecuting a high number of patent applications in a law firm and/or corporate setting
  • A background preparing and prosecuting applications in one or more of the following technical areas: artificial intelligence, machine learning, software, computer hardware and computer architecture
  • An electrical engineering, computer science, artificial intelligence or data science educational background
  • An advanced degree in any of the above areas is a plus
  • Experience as a USPTO Examiner is a plus
  • High level of comfort performing all aspects of prosecuting patent applications before the USPTO, including drafting applications, responding to office actions, and interviewing patent examiners
  • Significant experience with all, or a majority of, the following:
    • managing multiple active patent portfolios, domestically and internationally
    • representing both start-up and mature companies
    • preparing and prosecuting many inter-related patent applications
    • filing procedures and formalities
    • working with foreign counsel to prosecute foreign patent applications
    • project and budget management of large patent portfolios
    • preparing design guidance, non-infringement, and invalidity opinions
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Liaising and working directly with clients and/or responsible business teams
  • Proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team setting
  • Experience working remotely, combined with occasional travel
  • USPTO Registration
  • An entrepreneurial spirit
