The open source software (OSS) movement has revolutionized the software industry, with widespread adoption and contribution from both individual developers and large corporations. However, navigating the legal landscape of OSS presents unique challenges, particularly in the rapidly evolving field of artificial intelligence (AI).
The workshop was designed to help navigate the legal landscape of OSS and educate startups, SMBs, and research professionals on the fundamental legal aspects of OSS, especially as it intersects with AI. Participants gained insights into OSS compliance, licensing, and strategic use, with a focus on real-world examples, best practices, and case studies.
