GTC’s series on data privacy and security will continue with the following event in 2017:
Data Breach Simulation Exercise – Thursday January 12, 2017 8:45am – noon at the downtown Harvard Club (Boston).
Rocco Grillo, Executive Managing Director/Cyber Resilience Leader, Stroz Friedberg/Aon
Peter Lefkowitz, Chief Privacy Officer and Senior Digital Rights Management Counsel, GE Digital
Patrick Ford, Chief Information Security Officer, Americas Region, Schneider Electric
Sayoko Blodgett-Ford, CIPP/US, Member, GTC Law Group PC
Additional speakers and team facilitators to be confirmed.
This will be a lively interactive training. Attendees will work in teams of 5-6 and we will go through a simulated data breach, starting with an intentionally incomplete draft Incident Response Plan that we will improve as we work through the exercise.
**Materials for the Data Breach Simulation Exercise are available here.
We are also pleased to announce our event focusing on European Data Privacy Compliance – Thursday April 6, 2017 8:45am – noon at the downtown Harvard Club.
David Bender, Special Counsel, Data Privacy, GTC Law Group PC
Additional speakers to be confirmed.
We will provide practical guidance on the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) requirements, which will carry the most severe potential penalties we have ever seen in the data privacy area. Certain penalties could potentially be the greater of €20M or 4% of annual worldwide revenues. Although GDPR does not kick in until 2018, early compliance preparations are essential due to the scope and nature of the requirements.
We cordially invite you to attend both. Space is limited, so if you would like to attend please RSVP to [email protected] as soon as possible. There is of course no charge for attendance.
We intend to apply for CLE credits in CA (NY CLE generally is available via reciprocity).
If you have any questions, please contact Sayoko Blodgett-Ford at GTC (425-681-3795 – [email protected])
We look forward to hearing from you! — GTC Data Privacy & Security Group
