GTC Law Group’s Principal Tom Hemnes has published an article titled “The Copyright of Work of Authorship”. Tom’s paper addresses the question of what constitutes a copyright “work of authorship” and how the concept of copyright infringement expanded from verbatim copying of books, maps and charts to include partial copies, fixations in all media, and derivative works.  The paper considers the impact Generative Artificial Intelligence will have on copyright, concluding that it will increase the public domain at the expense of diminishing the rights of copyright holders.  The full article can be found here: “THE COPYRIGHT WORK OF AUTHORSHIP” by Hemnes, Thomas (scu.edu)
