Sayoko Blodgett-Ford teaches new Mobile App Development course at Boston College Law School in Spring 2017

Sayoko Blodgett-Ford, a Member of GTC, taught a new course “Mobile App Development: Legal Contributions” at Boston College Law School in the Spring 2017 semester as an adjunct professor.  The focus of this experiential course was on the role the attorney can play in the development and launch of mobile applications, including key skills needed for communications with executives and various stakeholders. Tony Decicco speaks at 15th Annual M&A Advisor Summit in New York City

Tony Decicco spoke on a panel at the 15th Annual M&A Advisor Summit in November 2016 in New York City on the impact of open source on M&A deals, including current open source litigation and implications for acquisition risk.   Tony, who is a Member of GTC, focuses on mergers and acquisitions, strategic development of patent portfolios, valuing and commercializing intellectual property assets, and licensing and other technology-related transactions. In addition, Tony oversees the firm’s computer code audit and due diligence practice and has extensive experience advising clients regarding the use of open source software.

GTC Law Group PC is pleased to announce that Rick M. Olin has become the neweset Member of the firm. Tony Decicco and Paul Jean spoke at the inaugural Black Duck Software “Flight16” user conference in Boston in October 2016. Tony addressed the legal/compliance track audience on the topic “Don’t Let Open Source be the Deal Breaker in Your M&A Deal,” and Paul participated in the panel discussion for the same group on thetopic “How to Talk to Senior Leadership About OS Security & License Compliance.”   Finally, Tony participated in a panel discussion for the technology track audience on the topic “Birds of a Feather – Open Source Governance in 2016.”

EU-US Privacy Shield Analysis + GTC Conference

By now you have been inundated with alerts about the new EU-US Privacy Shield and its availability as of August 1, 2016. Companies certifying compliance with the Privacy Shield can benefit in bringing EU-origin information into the US, but will increase their risk of enforcement actions if their US-centric policies do not meet EU standards.
